Every PPF package

What every paint protection film package includes

The difference between a good film job and a cheap one is almost entirely in the preparation and the edges. Both are included at every tier. The same prep standard runs through our window tint and vinyl work.

Wrapped edges
Film terminates behind the panel rather than on it, wherever the panel allows.
Full decontamination
Wash, chemical decon, clay, hand-cleaned shut lines and a solvent wipe.
Panels removed
Taken off where the coverage calls for it, and you are told what comes off first.
Patterns cut off the car
Trimmed on the bench, never with a blade against your clear coat.
Everything in writing
The exact film brand and the full panel list, confirmed before anything is cut.

How PPF installation runs

How a clear bra goes on: four stages, and most of the work is prep

  1. Decontaminate the paintWashed, then chemically decontaminated to pull embedded iron and tar out of the clear coat, then clayed. Panel edges, shut lines, badge surrounds and the lip behind the bumper are cleaned by hand, because that is where adhesive fails first if grit is left behind.
  2. Take panels off where coverage calls for itWrapping an edge means the film goes around the metal and terminates on the back side, where you cannot see it and a pressure washer cannot catch it. Bumpers, mirror caps, badges, handles, headlights and trim come off for that reason. We tell you what we plan to remove, and why, before we start.
  3. Lay the filmSlip solution goes on, the film is positioned, the solution is squeegeed out from the center, and heat shrinks the material into compound curves so it lies flat instead of fingering at the corners. Every panel is worked until the adhesive is fully wet out.
  4. Let it cureKeep the car dry for 48 hours and unwashed for a week. Expect some haze, small bubbles or a faint milky look in the first days — normal, and it clears on its own. Give it a couple of weeks in the sun before judging the finish. If an edge looks like it is lifting in that window, do not pick at it. Call us.

What film stops

What paint protection film stops, and what it does not

Film earns its money on the front of a car at freeway speed. The 405, the 55 and the 73 throw sand, gravel and tire-flung debris at your bumper constantly, and the damage is cumulative — a bumper that looks clean at 8,000 miles is often stippled by 40,000. Film takes that hit instead of the paint.

  • Handles: rock chips, sandblasting, bug etching, road tar, scuffs, wash swirls
  • Does not handle: collisions, dents, a key gouge that cuts through to the panel
  • It is a wear layer, not armor, and it is not body work

Prep and craft

Film seals in the chips that are already there

This is the one that costs people money. Film protects the paint under it on the day it goes on. It does not repair existing chips and it does not hide them — anything already in the paint gets sealed in, and because the film is clear, it stays visible. On a heavily chipped panel we will tell you before you spend money covering it.

  • Paint that is oxidized or has failing clear coat needs sorting first
  • Fresh paint needs 30 to 90 days of cure before film goes over it
  • Repainted panels behave differently to factory paint — we check before quoting

Self-healing topcoat

Self-healing film is a scratch behavior, not damage reversal

Most current topcoats have enough elasticity that shallow marks close back up when the film is warmed — by sunlight, hot water over the panel, or a heat gun. Park the car in the sun for an afternoon and most fine swirls disappear.

  • Fixes: wash swirls, light scratches, marks from a cover or a bag
  • Does not fix: anything through the topcoat, a cut to the adhesive, a tear, staining
  • Matte and satin films do not heal the same way and must not be polished

PPF vs vinyl vs coating

Paint protection film, vinyl and coating do three different jobs

These three get compared as if they are alternatives. Film is a thick clear impact layer and the only one that stops a rock chip. Vinyl is a color layer, thinner, not built to absorb impact. Ceramic coating is a thin hard chemical layer that changes how the surface cleans. You can layer them; you cannot substitute one for another.

  • Film for chips, vinyl for color, coating for ease of cleaning
  • We do not offer ceramic coating yet — it waits until training is finished
  • Coating goes over PPF, so filming now does not close that door

What paint protection film, or clear bra, actually is

Paint protection film, often called clear bra, is a thermoplastic urethane sheet with an adhesive layer on the back and a clear topcoat on the front. It is cut to the shape of a panel, softened and stretched into place with slip solution and heat, then squeegeed down until the adhesive wets out against the paint. Once cured it is close to invisible on a clean panel.

The urethane is the working layer — soft enough to deform when something hits it and elastic enough to spring back, so impact energy that would chip paint gets spread out and absorbed. Thickness is measured in mils, and most automotive PPF runs six to eight mil in total: thick enough to matter, thin enough to conform around curves and edges.

The topcoat is what you see and touch. It carries the gloss, the stain resistance and, on most current films, the self-healing behavior. Gloss is the default. Matte and satin films exist and they change the look of the paint underneath, which is a decision to make before the film is ordered, not after.

We install film from STEK Automotive, SunTek and 3M. Which one goes on your car depends on the finish you want, the panels being covered, and what the manufacturer covers on its side. You will know the exact film before we cut anything.

The PPF coverage tiers, and what each one covers

Coverage is sold in packages because the panels that take damage are predictable. Every tier varies by vehicle, since a wide-body coupe uses more material and more hours than a compact sedan.

Front package
$1,850Full front bumper, hood, front fenders, mirror caps, headlights usually included. 2–3 days. Ask whether your quote is written for partial or full hood — the difference is real money.
Track package
$2,500Extends rearward to rockers, leading edge of the roof, A-pillars and behind the rear wheels. For track days, canyon runs and heavy highway miles. 3–5 days.
Full body
$5,500Every painted exterior panel, no visible line where coverage stops. For a car you intend to keep original. 5–7 days.
Windshield protection film
$450Glass rather than paint, so it is a separate item. Worth considering on any windshield carrying driver-assist cameras, since replacement usually means recalibration too.
Individual PPF panels, priced on their own

Not every car needs a package. If you know exactly where your problem is, buy that panel and leave the rest alone. Any of these can be added to a package later, so long as seams and edges are planned around the coverage you intend to end up with — if you know you want full front eventually, say so at the first appointment.

Hood
$750The most exposed painted panel on most vehicles and usually the first to chip.
Bumper
$850Collects the lowest, closest debris and the worst of the parking lot damage. Also the panel most likely to have been repainted, which we check before quoting.
Front lip or side skirts
$750Low bodywork that scrapes on driveway aprons and collects rock damage thrown by the tires.
Trim and accessory PPF
1 dayPriced per piece.
Washing and caring for paint protection film

Film is low maintenance, not no maintenance. Most of the rules are good washing habits applied consistently. Two local specifics matter more than the rest: salt air off the coast and hard water spotting are what shorten film life here. Rinse after beach driving, and dry the car rather than letting it air dry, because our water leaves mineral deposits that etch over time.

  • First 48 hours dry, first week no washing at all
  • Hand wash with pH-neutral soap and two buckets, or use a touchless wash
  • Avoid automatic tunnels — spinning brushes swirl film and can catch an edge
  • Pressure wash a foot back, around 1,500 psi or below, never into an edge or seam
  • Get bird droppings, bugs and sap off within a day or two, not at the next wash
  • No compounds, polishes, abrasives, solvents or heavy petroleum distillates
  • If an edge lifts, do not pull on it — bring the car in and it usually re-sets
Who paint protection film is worth it for

Worth it: new or nearly new vehicles where the factory paint is still perfect. Cars with soft or thin factory paint, which includes plenty of German metal and a lot of red and black finishes. Anything you commute in on Orange County freeways, because freeway miles are chip miles. Leased vehicles, where handing the car back without chip damage has a real dollar value. Track and canyon cars, which get sandblasted along the sides as well as the nose. Any vehicle where repainting one panel would cost more than filming it.

Not worth it, or worth waiting on: paint that is already oxidized, failing or peeling, because film needs a sound surface to bond to. Fresh paint that has not fully cured, since body shops generally want 30 to 90 days first. A car you are selling next month, where the buyer will not pay for the film. And any situation where the cost of the film is a meaningful fraction of what the car is worth.

If you are not sure which side of that line your car falls on, bring it by. We will look at the paint and tell you what we see. If a $35 wash and a straight answer makes more sense than $1,850 of film, that is what you will hear.

The two-year paint protection film warranty

We back our installation with a 2 year, 24,000 mile workmanship warranty. It covers our work: lifting, peeling, bubbling and edge failure that traces back to how the film was installed rather than to what happened to the car afterward. It is assessed per vehicle and confirmed in writing before work begins, so you know the terms before you pay for anything.

That sits on top of whatever the film manufacturer covers on its side. Manufacturer coverage is a separate agreement, it applies to the film itself rather than to the installation, and its terms vary by brand and by film. We will show you the specific manufacturer terms for the film going on your car before you commit.

What we will not do is bury the terms in fine print. If something would not be covered, we would rather you know that at the counter than find out in year two.

Booking paint protection film in Huntington Beach

We are a new shop and we are going to be direct about what that means. Trinity Aesthetics holds no certifications today. The owner, AJ and Jeremiah are enrolled at Ding King Technical Institute, completing training in window tint, PPF installation, paintless dent repair, detailing and paint chip repair, with completion expected around October 2026. We are not going to call ourselves certified, authorized or factory-trained before that is true.

What we can offer now is the part of this trade that is usually made difficult. The prices are on this page, the warranty terms are in writing before you pay, and the film brand and panel list are confirmed before anything is cut. Send photos of the panels you are worried about and we will give you a range before you drive over.

Paint protection film questions

How much does paint protection film cost in Huntington Beach?

Front package is $1,850, track package is $2,500 and full body is $5,500, and all three vary by vehicle because larger, more complex bodywork uses more film and more hours. Individual panels are priced separately: hood $750, bumper $850, front lip or side skirts $750, windshield protection film $450. You get the exact figure for your car in writing before work starts.

Is clear bra the same thing as PPF?

Yes. Clear bra is the older name for paint protection film, and it usually meant partial front coverage: the bumper, part of the hood, part of the fenders. Coverage today runs from a single panel to the entire painted body. If you call asking for a clear bra, our front package at $1,850 is the closest modern equivalent.

How long does paint protection film take to install?

A front package takes 2 to 3 days, a track package 3 to 5 days, and a full body 5 to 7 days. Trim and accessory pieces are a one day job. Those windows cover decontamination, disassembly where needed, installation and initial setting, and they assume the paint needs no extra work first.

Will I be able to see the clear bra once it is on?

At the edges, sometimes. On a wrapped edge the film terminates behind the panel where it is not visible at all, and on a cut edge you may see a fine line in certain light. Across the panel face, gloss film on clean, well prepared paint is very hard to pick out.

Does PPF damage the paint when it is removed?

Removed properly, with heat and patience, film comes off factory paint without taking paint with it. The risk is not the film, it is what is underneath. Repainted panels, failing clear coat and cheap refinish work can lift during removal, which is why we check the paint and ask about repair history before quoting.

How long does paint protection film last?

Our 2 year, 24,000 mile workmanship warranty covers the installation. The film itself is covered separately by the manufacturer, and those terms vary by brand and by film, so we go over the specific coverage before you commit. Real world life depends heavily on sun exposure, wash habits and how fast contaminants get cleaned off.

Can film go over a vinyl wrap or over fresh paint?

Film over vinyl is generally a bad idea, because the adhesive bonds to the wrap rather than to the paint and removal gets complicated. Over fresh paint, wait. Body shops typically want 30 to 90 days of cure time first, so tell us when the panel was sprayed and we will schedule around it.

Do you offer ceramic coating over the film?

Not yet. Ceramic coating is planned for after our training is complete, and we will not sell a service we have not finished training for. Coating layers well over PPF, so having film installed here now does not prevent you from adding a coating later.

Can you film only the panels that are already chipped?

Yes, and that is what individual panel pricing is for. Understand that film will not repair or hide chips already in the paint. It seals them in and they stay visible through clear film. If a panel is heavily chipped, we will tell you before you spend money covering it.

Do you install paint protection film mobile, or do I bring the car in?

No, we are not mobile. We are a single location at 15317 Pipeline Ln in Huntington Beach, and PPF needs a controlled indoor environment with clean air and stable temperature, which is not something that travels. We take vehicles from anywhere in Orange County.

Protect the paint before the first rock finds it.

Tell us the vehicle and how you drive it. We will tell you which coverage is worth it and which is not, and put the panel list in writing.
